Good news!

This evening, Guelph Eramosa Township Council voted to refuse Xinyi’s zoning bylaw amendment application because the estimated water usage did not fit the “dry industrial” use requirements. Mayor White and Councillors Wolk, Marshall, and Woods voted in favour of refusing the application; Councillor Bouwmeester was strongly and vocally opposed, arguing that 1.6 million litres of water per day is dry to his mind.

Thank you to everyone who has worked so tirelessly on this matter and to Councillor Wolk for introducing the motion.

GET Concerned Websites

If you’re looking for the latest information from the GET Concerned advocacy group, please see getconcerned.org

I, Suzie, originally started this (getconcerned.com) site before the formation of the advocacy group.  While I was involved in the group for a while, other demands on my time required me to bow out and so the group has moved on to the getconcerned.org site.  I will continue to update here as much as I can, but the group continues to work tirelessly on this issue and so their site is likely to have the most up to date and relevant info.
